LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Several young entrepreneurs were celebrated by a Louisville nonprofit for taking their passion for business to the next level.

The Academy of Child Entrepreneurship led by the ACE Project held a graduation ceremony for 15 students who completed its seven-month program. It gives underserved children ages 10 to 18 the opportunity to get a head start in developing their own businesses.

The program includes weekly classes, homework and mentorship.

“These young people are able to learn business concepts, business vocabulary, had to do a business plan, had to be able to pitch their businesses,” said Rose Smith, ACE project director and founder. “Everything they need. This is a free program that they learn all the financial part of it.”

The students also set up their own booths to showcase their business ideas. So far, 75 students have graduated from the program.
